Pharrell Williams Fired From McDonald’s Three Times, Then Wrote Hit Jingle?

Did you watch the interview that Seth Meyers did with singer Pharrell Williams?  Well, you’re in for a surprise when you watch it online.  It’s a story of being fired repeatedly and rising from the ashes again.  It’s a story about never giving up.

Pharrell Williams says he was fired from three different McDonald’s locations for being lazy.  But then he went into the music industry, co-wrote a song for Justin Timberlake that would be adapted to become a hit jingle for McDonald’s entitled, “I’m Lovin’ It.”

Where has this little ditty been sitting around?  What a terrific story.

During the interview, Pharrell is very humble in explaining his history with McDonald’s, his firings, and his ultimate success.  He views it as an opportunity instead of saying it was revenge.

There’s a lesson in all of this.  You can be fired repeatedly and still make good in the world.  Honestly, that’s a “Happy” lesson I can label:  “I’m Lovin’ It!”
