Predestination: Amazing Film

Predestination_poster

Sometimes you hit the jackpot on Netflix and I hit the motherload with the film “Predestination.”

The logline on IMDB doesn’t give it justice, but here it is: The life of a time-traveling Temporal Agent. On his final assignment, he must pursue the one criminal that has eluded him throughout time.

As I said, it’s so much more than that. There are a lot of layers in this film and you have to pay attention so you can enjoy the entire experience. If you enjoyed the film “Looper,” you will love “Predestination.”

One question: What is it like to meet your younger self?

I don’t want to spoil it for you. If you have Netflix, watch the film. If you don’t have Netflix, get Netflix to watch the film.

Actors Ethan Hawke, Sarah Snook and Noah Taylor give an authentic feel to their performances. Sarah Snook is especially talented. Remember her name.

The characters, the pacing, the scenery… it all comes together in a tight little unexpected package that your mind has to unravel. Based on a short story written by Robert Heinlein, it’s an incredible joy ride of mystery. Heinlein wrote many science fiction short stories and novels prior to his passing in 1988.

Now, I’m a big fan of the writer/directors Michael and Peter Spierig. They’re brothers and I want to see their next film. Currently, they have three projects in development and they have top notch representation. We’ll be seeing more from this set of brothers. They’re going to make a ton of money for Hollywood studios and create quite a following of grateful fans.

Dear Spierig Brothers: Congratulations on a job well-done. Now, give me more…and this time on the big screen in the movie theater!
